RSS & GeoRSS to KML

Spured on by comments on Stefan’s Ogle Earth blog, have created this little page as a wrapper to the excellent service provided by geonames.org to automatically convert a RSS feed to KML. It also does RSS->GeoRSS and GeoRSS->KML.

Hopefully should make it a bit easier to load a (Geo)RSS feed into Google Earth in the style of a RSS feed – it auto updates.

After a comparatively quiet period, have finally begun some development work again on these sites, so far: The Nearby API now has a SOAP interface. And two new features for Google Earth: IARU Locator Echo and Worldwide MGRS Grid-lines Layer.
Oh and deformedweb.co.uk is now hosted on the same dedicated server as this site, should mean can do more there….

all I wanted to say is added basic support for the simple GeoRSS to the geograph.org.uk RSS syndication feeds. While there have also combined it with PhotoRSS to create GeoPhotoRSS ;)

IARU Locators in the Geocoder

I have now added support for IARU Locators to the Nearby Geocoder. If want to work with these you have to explicitly request them and inform the geocoder thats what to supplying as they look teribly like UK postcodes…
